The FreeLoader Directory makes extensive use of TinyURL to cut big, gnarly URLs down to size, but bit.ly serves the same handy purpose and requires about half the typing.
Sites that profile freeware & open source software
The sites below feature articles on new, free software. They each have differing interests and approaches, so overlap is minimal. Making the most of them requires more elbow grease than keeping a copy of The FreeLoader Directory handy, but they're still helpful between editions of the book!
